Animation

The world of animation is truly astounding. One can dive deeper into this world of fantasy and can never end up getting to know it completely. It’s just that it’s a different world which pushes you into the deep sea of imagination. These smart people know their thing and there’s no doubt that this art requires a plethora of hard work, effort, and dedication. Being able to show things moving isn’t a piece of cake so let’s take you on a journey which will allow you to explore the unseen planet of 2D, 3D and Whiteboard Animation.

1. 2D Animation

2D Animation allows the animator to focus on creating characters, storyboards, and backgrounds in two-dimensional environments. This simply means that the figures can move up and down, left and right. They can’t be seen moving toward or away from the viewer because this is only possible in 3D animation. 2D animation simply operates by usage of bitmap and vector graphics, allowing it to create and edit the animated images and this can easily be executed by using software programs, and computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Encore. Rotoscopy, Anime, onion skimming, twining, and morphing are the main techniques used in 2D Animation. 2D Animation also takes time because it is necessary for animators to draw new positions and angles for character rigs in 2D Animation. There are a lot of industries where animations may be used, you name it: advertisements, films, television shows, computer games, and websites.

2. 3D Animation

When it comes to highlighting the difference between 2D and 3D Animation, so it’s simple. Both vary in the appearance of depth. 2D Animation is simply a flat animation where all the actions happen in x and y-axes, but 3D adds more value by including extra dimension known as the z-axis. 3D Animation uses techniques like appearance sketching, arena building, appearance modeling, abating, camera setup, texturing, alteration and bond and rendering. It must be noted that creating 3D requires more time as detailed procedures are incorporated such as characters that may have long life spans. Creating 3D Animation isn’t a piece of cake as the animator must be in a position to understand the assignment and what the client actually wants.

3. Whiteboard Animation

This animation is quite these days as people find it convenient and it isn’t that time-consuming. As the name suggests, in this type of animation, the author draws physically and records an illustrated story using a whiteboard or even whiteboard-like surface and marker pens. This animation gives a more realistic look.

Now the question is how it works. It’s simple, a writer writes the story and gets it edited and refined by an editor. Next step is to hand over the script to an illustrator who comes up with ideas for illustrations. Once this is done, the fun part begins that is whiteboard animation. The illustrator you have chosen draws on his/her boards by hand following the agreed storyboard followed by the narration of that story.
